In the Wilds (Open to all)

Jasmine wove gracefully as she walked, swaying as if to some unheard music. Every once in a while she would twirl, or do some other trick. She danced around the trees, weaving on and off the path. She had some for plants, to practice her herblore. She had only taken up the trait recently, and only knew how to make a few things. She focused mostly on healing and toxins. One of which she had perfected with much help from an elder among the Gypsies. She breathed deeply, enjoying the rich earthy smell. How she loved it her, was drawn here. Had her mother lived in a place like this? She often wondered, and dreamed such things.

She knew the dangers, but was old enough to make choices on her own. She was an orphans, or at least she never knew her parents. Left among the traveling people, she was one of the family, not having any real mother or father, but being under the care of the group as a whole. A few more than others, but each had worked with her and taught her something of their own. She loved this life, but at times had wondered what it would be like to live inside the walls. To perhaps marry a soldier, or even a prince! Imagine, her a princess! But, alas, she feared the like of the city people, all their laws and customs. How she would miss the freedom, the fun!

As she noticed something brightly colored in one the the trees a little ways from her, she froze. She knew well the dangers here, not only creatures and animals, but even humans at times posed a threat. Only the bravest, and often cruelest came here. The unsung song in her head had stopped, and all motion ceased. She crouched, watching, waiting as her hand gracefully slow to where her knives were concealed.

A small figure moved toward her. As she watched she realized it was a girl, and from the way she looked, a gypsy. Still, she waited a moment longer. She had heard tells of tricks similar to this. As the girl stilled her movement and help her palms out, Jasmine sighed. She left her weapons hidden and slowly rose. The girl's voice sounded frightened, her words seeming genuine.

She tried to appear friendly, though with the situation, that seemed to fail either way. She stayed still, not wanting to seem threatening. 'Hello, sorry to scare you. I am Jasmine.' She said, then pulling her skirts slightly to the side she gave a slight, yet graceful curtsy. Her eyes caught a slight glimmer of their usual shine. A faint smile started to show on her face. She sent a quick, cautious glance around to be sure there were no others, then she focused once more on the girl before her. She wondered now what this gypsy thought of her. Jasmine was much like other humans, though her eyes shined with a glow more like the precious gems of the earth than other humans. Her ears, though covered, had a slight point, what some light call elfish. She was beautiful, more beautiful it seemed that many human women, or so the men often told her. As she thought, she also studied this girl. They had never met, of that she was certain. She seemed on the edge of womanhood. Nearly able to chose her own path, but still under the protection of others. Still, she was blessed with beauty, and would make many women jealous when her time came. Jasmine could see herself and this other getting along well, given the chance. Though Jasmine was always on the move, she didn't see why that should stop her from living in the moment, so she would stay, at least until her welcome ran out.
